AWAKEN | DAY 14
“…Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”HEBREWS 12:1
Our relationship with God is a lot like the relationship between a husband and wife — it takes commitment. Our verse for today instructs us to run with perseverance. What a challenge! In case you’ve forgotten, “to persevere” means to continue in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success. Come on! You can’t be serious, right? Keep going when NOTHING is going my way? Yes. Keep going when all I can do is barely tread water? Yes.
Perhaps you’ve found yourself in the middle of a battle, and your arms are weak, your body is tired, and your spirit is broken. Let me encourage you with this — God is for you and He’s not against you. Keep marching. Keep praying. Keep fighting. Keep trusting. Keep rejoicing, and watch God come through for you. When you do what only you can do, God will do what only He can do.
Jesus, I’m tired and exhausted. I need your supernatural strength to lift me up so I can continue in the race you’ve called me to. I declare I will see the finish line, and I will overcome.
